Christians Awake!
The time is far gone and the evil last days of prophecy are not far away.
Revelation tells us that it is the ones who overcome that get the crowns of glory (See Rev 2-4).
Hebrews 4:1 states “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.”
Christian brothers and sisters, we too can be found in unbelief and thereby aggressive to God if we do not vigorously enter into the Life He has given us at great cost. Hebrews 2:3 declares “How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?” How indeed?
How stupid would I be if my father gave me a magnificent, shiny, new car and I never drove the thing, but just let it rot away in the old farm shed, complaining all the time that no-one ever takes me anywhere and life isn’t what it could be? I’m telling you that this is what many brothers and sisters do with the wonderful faith that God has given us. We leave it in the shed for the chickens to roost on, and wonder why life is so messy! If I won’t drive the car my father has given me, do you think he is going to appoint himself my personal chauffeur? Hardly! I need to take driving lessons and get over my ignorance, and my anger with him for not letting me “do it my way”! (That song of Frank’s is one of the most misleading dictates that was ever planted in people’s minds and hearts!)
Be warned, Christians, not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter the kingdom of Heaven. We have it from the mouth of Jesus Himself. People will prophesy, cast out demons, do signs and wonders, and still not enter the Kingdom.(Matt 8:21-23). Only those who do the will of our Father in Heaven. That involves a certain amount of understanding which only comes with wanting!
Western Christianity is very materialistic. Jesus was never so. Western Christianity wants to assure itself of all the blessings, and even the big lights, but doesn’t care too much for the opportunities and sacrifices! Such vacuous faith will achieve nothing in God’s terms, for Jesus said we must each take up our cross (OUCH!) and follow him. Oh, so it’s not a matter of Him rushing to meet our every need – although He does. Hey presto! It turns out to be a matter of our rushing out to get hold of His dream! Wake up Christians. We have too long been under the impression that we deserve every good thing. We need to take hold of this ‘car” of faith that our Heavenly Father has offered us, and learn to drive! WOW! There’s massive power in that engine! He has business for us to be part of, and we need to learn to drive!
ROAD RULES OF THE CHRISTIAN!
1. Maintain radio contact with home base at all times for instruction and direction. This must never be subverted. If ever you make a mistake and lose the connection, call home base and let them know the story. Re-installation is immediate.
2. Study the procedures manual (Bible) constantly, and because no two jobs are ever the same, the fine detail on procedures is essential. Fine-tune your knowledge constantly. This is a most surprising part of the task as the procedures manual is alive, it’s actually reading you, and knows before you what job you are facing next and what you need to know!
3. Support your fellow Christians as you wish like mad they’d support you. Less than this is verbal diarrohea. If you wish something was happening for you, make absolutely certain you are doing it for everyone else and stop grizzling. Grizzles don’t get rewarded, love does! This is like the give way rule of traffic. See that all the other traffic is attended to – then it’s your turn!
4. One of the major jobs is to find and teach apprentice drivers. The only way to teach is by example. If they can’t see how it’s done they don’t learn well. Some of them have learned all wrong and need to start again. This is much more difficult than learning it right in the first place. However, it’s not out of the question and second and third chances are available. When the apprentice develops an iron determination that the whole company is wrong and he is right, then let him go and find out! What else can you do? Wait a while till he gets more sense and comes back again.
5. Self promotions are absolutely out. Never, never try and negotiate promotion as a driver. You’re likely to get knocked for six! Promotion happens when you are in demand because of your excellence in driving. It involves huge responsibilities and detailed accounting. If it comes to you then attend to the responsibilities and be ready to give answers! They’d better be the right ones!
6. Road rage? Don’t even think about it! Envy Father’s free gifts because you can have the lot and they are all brilliant! Take any abuse on the chin and let it bounce. It’ll go back where it came from, unfortunately for the sender. When you are rightly angry because the boss (Father God) is being maligned, be very gentle. They won’t know what to do about that! Just quietly give them some of your wisdom and bless them with something, a gift. This is a most confusing (but not at all confused) response!
7. Always attend the drivers’ rallies. They are your mates. You’ll polish up each other’s practice in the jam sessions, but more than that, the boss (Father) is always there waiting for you. Why? Because HE LOVES YOU!
