Never Give Up!

November 8th 2006 11:55
Never Give Up!

I was presented with a marvellous business opportunity one time, but thought I had messed it up. I got the message “Let’s just call it quits and move along, shall we?” after preliminary negotiations. So an apology was emailed along with a statement of interest in continuing with the opportunity but there wan no reply, and I thought it was all over.

Then another contact from the office rang to see why expected paperwork had not come in. I reviewed the whole picture and asked if anything could be done? “Yes, of course” came the reply. The contact was made, request confirmed, and the green light shone again.

Things are never quite what they seem. It is always worth another try if it’s something really important to you. Persistence is a great virtue. If family life has not encouraged it, do not be discouraged! The cycle can be broken. Mentors can be found. Help is available. Learn persistence – it’s a truly valuable asset!

It is a great lesson. Certainly there is something to be said about 'cutting bait' and minimizing loss. Yet, persistence is soooo important.

I spoke to someone today who said visualize where you want to be and what you want to do and soon you will start to make those goals come true!

Hi Deorre, Hi Ash. Sorry that my computer's been down a while and I have only justgot back on line.

I'm still pressing ahead with that business opportunity. It's a miracle! There is a huge heap of work to do but how exciting!.

Ash, We are made in God's image and that includes having visions for the future, for what could be. We, like Him, are creative beings with the ability to prosper and develop, to invent and initiate. When we start dreaming of something we begin creating it in an amazing way! That's why every thought is so important. It is creating the vision for the life we want! It is establishing the patterns that are the foundations for character. It's important that thoughts be positive and strong rather than deprecating and weak. "As a man thinks, so is he!"

Think of the real values - humility, service, gentleness, kindness, peace, faithfulness, honesty, real love. Meditate on these things and build them into your psyche. They are some of the qualities God designed for man. There's no law against thesethings. They help to bring us up to scratch.

I think that we should do this everyday - and I try with all my might to do it. Sometimes it seems like you are going nowhere and then you get the break that you deserve.
I am a Christian...I am not afraid to confess it. I try very hard to spend as much time during the day as I can talking to God, but it seems like I talk to HIm asking more than I talk to Him and listen! This is the lesson I need to learn!
I will never give up and I pray about all these important things that will see me through, I think that`s important and where, as a human being I need to learn - FAITH!!!

Dear Ash,
Faith is the great thing! You got that right.

And I believe that faith is rising again in this nation.

We are given faith as part of our equipment at birth. It's just a question of where we place it. Do we place it in nothing as the evolutionists and atheists do? Do we invest our faith in human intelligence as academics do? (even though the HitlersandAl Capone's demonstrate clearly that it's a self-serving feature). Do we put it all on the football team, the career path, the pophero,or in animals because humans have failed us as friends? There are a million places to deposit our faith, but only one place where it will acrue satisaction. That is in the Creator, His Son Jesus, and the Spirit of Truth that He sent us after He left the earth. Invite Him to take over your heart. Get rid of anything that stands in His way and get to know Him. Meet with His people (at a good church).Study His word, believe it and do it. Once you get to know Him everything changes. The colours are brighter, the lessons are tougher, the personal development is second to none! You won't need to go looking for thrills - walking on water (faith) is the best! Nothing is ever the same again.

Hi Helen
I am a Christian, I love God and I try to say my prayers at night, however i struggle. I do things that I know are wrong and after I think 'HOW DID YOU GIVE IN TO THAT TEMPTATION!!!'
I am so bad like this! I try to do everything according to the rules. My grandmother would fetch me for church most weekends, even though it was out of the way.
Now it just seems like I am doing things that I know are wrong but fill a void and that I can talk myself into!
ITS HARD ISnT IT???

You know, it's amazing,if you are in love with someone, what you'll do for them and think nothing of it. Give yourself permission to be full on in love with Jesus, whatever anyone says, and go find the other people who are doing the same thing. You need them and they need you! You may have to give up some of the friends you have now and restructure completely. It's amazing how the friends you have affect you.

Being a Christian is not about "doing the rules". It's all based on the power of love - for the Lord who loves you passionately (why else would He come to earth and die a cruel death to rise again in defeat of satan?) It's all about a relationship which changes the way we see things, and even changes our wants! He wants to re-empower us for truthful, loving living. The rules might help initially, but you'll go a long way beyond those! Find a good church with lots of people of your own age to share with. Spend time with Jesus, and He'll do the work. He's the dream friend and hero everyone wants!

PS God isn't Father Christmas, although sometimes He acts like it! What He wants is you! He loves you and wants you to love Him. When you've got that trust relationship strong through thick and thin, that's when things take off!
